HE'S ALIVE!

After almost two years, Valentino is finally back! He is home! He is safe! He is alive!!!

Okay, so he really isn't alive, but you get my point.

After sending him out to get his tail crack fixed after the live show I took him to, I never got him back! Finally, he has arrived :).

I am ecstatic! I am so, very happy to have him home! I tucked him safely away into his curio cabinet and have a feeling he won't be leaving there any time soon.

Of course I snapped a few photos. Isn't he handsome? I am so in love and so glad he is home :).

Goodbye, Stormy

Stormwatch left for his new home in Australia yesterday morning! I am so sad to let him go :(. He has the most adorable face. Who couldn't love that lip?

Although he is gone, I can assure you I feel better tonight. With all that has been going on, the timing couldn't have been more perfect.

Along with everything, I had the vet out today. Sonny had to have some major chiropratic work done, along with getting his sheath cleaned. On top of that, I found out that his pasterns are so upright he is going to have arthritis when he is older. Considering I want to have him for forever, I have to put him on a joint supplement now to help prolong it. Oh, well. It will be worth it in the end!

Another Arabian?

This time in resin!

I can't believe that in all these years of collecting model horses, I get my first two arabians within weeks of each other!

I am so excited to share with you all my new arabian from Kate Schick (drumroll):

Now before I show anymore pictures, hurry up and wipe the drool off your keyboard before it is ruined!

I don't mean to brag, because I obviously had nothing to do with this gorgeous girl. All the credit goes to Deborah McDermott and especially to miss Kate Schick for bringing her to life!

I can't say enough great things about Kate. Seriously, look at that detail!

I wasn't originally planning on having this mare painted right away (and that was before I knew that I would be moving Sonny and buying a horse trailer and everything else that costs outrageous amounts of money). But Kate was so excited to paint her, I couldn't say no! She picked out the whole color pattern, some of it based on her real horse. All I had to do with it was the face marking.

Considering I may not be making any model horse purchases for the next decade of my life, at least I went out with a bang ;).

Sprechen Sie Deutsch?

Tara, my Eberl mare that is going to eventually be painted as a portrait of LaBelle, arrived today! She came all the way from Germany! Which may be appropriate, considering the real LaBelle is a Rhinelander, a warmblood registry from Rhineland, Germany. Ironically, 'LaBelle' means The Beautiful in French. On top of that, she was born here in American (she is well cultured, isn't she?).

I don't plan on having her customized any time soon, but at least I won't have to hunt around for her anymore ;). (By the way, Yes, I do speak some German. But, not very well.)

New Stuff

During my time of nonexistence, I managed to get a couple new things.

First of all, my very first arabian resin! I’ll admit it…I am not an arabian fan. I know it is hard to believe, but they just aren’t my cup of tea!

When I first laid eyes on Bint Soraya, I knew she was going to be my first arab! Look at that face! So much detail and character. She definitely has her own personality. I am really excited about her and can’t wait to see her finished! Although, her color will have to be a surprise ;).

I also receive this new girl! She is my new, detailed, huntseat doll by Joan Yount! I was hoping for different colors, but there was some miscommunication going on. Oh well, there will be plenty of time for more dolls in the future ;).

Five more days of school. Two more final exams. One more paper. One more project. Almost there!

SE Ohio Model Horse Show - English

I was also really proud of how Armani did with his classes! He cantered about with 4 NAN cards at his first show!

The OF classes were much bigger than the CM/AR performance classes, so here are the pictures of them combined :).

I really liked this guy. I believe he is Kate Gross'.
