I have been playing around with my home-made light box lately. I think I need one more light and a cool background. But, here is what I have been able to accomplish so far:

Sprechen Sie Deutsch?
Tara, my Eberl mare that is going to eventually be painted as a portrait of LaBelle, arrived today! She came all the way from Germany! Which may be appropriate, considering the real LaBelle is a Rhinelander, a warmblood registry from Rhineland, Germany. Ironically, 'LaBelle' means The Beautiful in French. On top of that, she was born here in American (she is well cultured, isn't she?).
I don't plan on having her customized any time soon, but at least I won't have to hunt around for her anymore ;). (By the way, Yes, I do speak some German. But, not very well.)

Finished!
Here is a custom order I finished over the weekend:
I am really happy with it! I love the idea of the leather halter with a white cotton lead rope. The customer wanted brandy colored leather and to have it fit for Strapless. I think it looks stunning on her!
More pictures later!

I've Got An Angel
He wears a heart that can melt my own
He wears a smile that can make me wanna sing.
He gives me presents
With his presence alone.
He gives me everything I could wish for
He gives me kisses on the lips just for comin' home.

Baby Steps
If you remember, I had two goals (along with numerous, unmentioned ones) that I really wanted to put into action this summer.
I have managed to keep up with one of the two. I know that is a 50%, a big whopping F. But hey, isn't 50% always better than 0%? I guess it's not if it's your final grade and you end up failing either way, but bear with me here ;).
On a positive note, I have been REALLY good about keeping my workspace clean! I am definitely not a messy person, but cleaning up my bits of leather, putting my tools back, and keeping things organized has been troublesome for me. As soon as finals were over, I embarked on the biggest cleaning journey of my life. My room hasn't been this clean since the day before I moved in. I hope to keep with this way!
Just so you get an idea:
Doesn't this look like Mr. Clean or Martha Stewart's room? I found a way to store my big green board (I am not sure what it is called?) and most of my bottles (of glue, dye, etc.) conveniently under my desk. Then, when I want to get to work, I can just pull them out. Or just as easily put them away! I have been so good about cleaning up every time after I work, that way it never gets too bad to handle!
As for the other goal... we might just let it slide ;).

Back At It
I have finally finished a halter for a very patient customer! Remember that foal slip halter I made a while back? Well, this is the matching one for his momma!
This is definitely the best halter I have made to date. The stitching and the rolled throatlatch turned out just how I wanted them to. Overall, I am very pleased! I hope the new owner likes it as much as I do!
I just have to find out if she wants a working buckle for the leadrope or a realistic looking one. For some reason, they don't make small gold working buckles? I can find silver lots of places, but haven't come across gold yet!
